The ideal candidate should have a good understanding / knowledge of all Housekeeping and general lodge related procedures.

Our client is searching for someone who is Guest and Team focused and is driven to improve the offerings already in place at the lodge.

The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees staff to ensure the lodge standard of cleanliness in all guest rooms and public areas are achieved and maintained.

DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Housekeeping Supervisor is generally responsible for: Housekeeping Room Attendants, Lodge - Public Area Attendants and liaises with Reception, Maintenance, Security, Room Service (Kitchen/F&B departments).
  • Maintains all agreed standards.
  • Maintains these set standards whilst remaining within agreed budgets on guest and cleaning supplies, salaries and any miscellaneous costs which apply to the department.
  • Liaises with all relevant department heads and managers to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the housekeeping department.
  • Monitors closely the condition and maintenance of all accommodation and public areas.
  • Ensures the smooth running and staff welfare within the department.
  • Responsible for submitting relevant for ordering/purchasing of all related cleaning chemicals and materials.
  • Responsible for the staff, stock levels, stock taking and control of Linen Room and uniform departments.
  • Maintains personal contact with guests when required.
  • Room checks and any other related tasks.

Our client is situated within the Cape Winelands region and the property is mainly a working livestock and grains farm. Of the Big 5, there is Buffalo on this property.

The client has a well-known reputation for its impeccable farm-style hospitality & great location in a country atmosphere. The ideal candidate will be a friendly, team & guest-orientated individual that loves mingling with Guests and doesn't mind being an all-rounder to help where needed, when not busy conducting game drives / other guest activities.

KEY FOCUS AREAS / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Game drives
  • Hosting of Guests
  • General assistance around the lodge -
  • E. G. Answering telephones, assisting with meal service, general guest relations, ability to check in or check out Guests

The Field Guides role, together with his tracker, is to take guests on game drives and host them for their entire stay. This role also requires some co-ordination of the guests stay, ensuring that from arrival to departure they experience an original and memorable time in the African Bush. This will include game drives, walks, observatory evenings etc. The Field Guide plays a vital role in ensuring the safety of the guests at all times.

  • Valid PrDP License and Driver's License
  • Valid First Aid Level 1

  • 3 to 5 years' experience guiding in 5 Star Establishments
  • General knowledge of legal implications of being a Field Guide
  • FGASA Level 3 preferred and no less than FGASA Level 2

LEAD TRAILS GUIDE:

  • Day/Night guided game drives;
  • Assist with safari related activities;
  • Hosting of guests;

SPA THERAPIST:


She would generally be required to do max 2 - 3 spa treatments a day so would also need to be prepared to be involved in other lodge duties.

Game Ranger / Maintenance - iSimangaliso Wetland Park

FIELD GUIDE / MAINTENANCE PERSON - Will be required to relieve senior rangers and take guests on morning and afternoon game drives as well as full day boat and beach safaris. Will be responsible for general MAINTENANCE at the Lodge, and general vehicle maintenance. Will also need to know who to drive a tractor. Need to know water pumps and have a good general maintenance skill set. You wll also need to host guests and help out where needed at the Lodge.

The Lodge is 4 Star, mostly international guests. Accommodation is provided in a nice batchelor cottage and meals are provided on duty.
