Description:
Individual will have advanced organizational skills in order to take responsibility for primary task of managing the food and beverage supply chain for the lodge.

This includes:

1. Coordinating stock and ordering of food, drinks and supplies from suppliers.

2. Assisting kitchen staff in all aspects of kitchen operation and food preparation.

3. Work out menus and cater for special diets like vegan, gluten-free, etc.

4. Prepare, serve and clean food service area before and after meal service.

In addition, the position entails assisting in the following areas:

1. Hosting and interacting with guests on a daily basis.

2. General front of house duties such as room checks, guest arrivals, restocking of supplies.

3. Keeping interior of lodge clean and well-maintained.

4. Assisting the Managers with general duties when required to do so.

The position will also include the opportunity to learn all facets of being a lodge manager with the intent of that person, having the capabilities to manage all lodge management functions (other than guiding and maintenance), could pursue a career in the hospitality industry as a manager of a lodge or a boutique hotel.

Should the applicant wish to get exposure to the guiding industry and obtain some entry level experience with some of the profession's most qualified guides, this will be permitted as time allows.

Accommodation (and all meals) will be provided during the time that the applicant is employed and on site. There will be a 90-day probationary period.

Skills/Requirements:
The qualified applicant needs to be energetic, self-driven/motivated, professional and a quick learner or possess the relevant experience for the primary task/s. The person needs to be able to live in an isolated environment and work a cycle of three weeks on with one week off. Previous hospitality and commercial kitchen experience will be an asset.

Some post matric education is necessary with complete fluency in English (Involvement with media is a plus and will be considered in the application).
