My client is now searching for a highly motivated & results driven Senior Travel - Tour Consultant for a Safari Tour Operator based in the Durban area.

To apply for this position the candidate must have a minimum of 5 years' travel sales or reservations experience & good geographical knowledge of Africa.

Prior travel experience is essential and you must also be proficient in the languages of ENGLISH & GERMAN.

You would be based in a home office type environment working 40 hours per week / Monday to Friday.

OFF ON WEEKENDS.

Skills/Requirements:
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES SOUGHT / MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years travel industry sales management experience
  • Proficiency in English & German
  • Good African geographical knowledge; personal travel experience
  • Experience working with computer / travel / tour booking systems
  • Experience and high standard of customer service
  • Excellent phone manner
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy and consistency
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Responsible and reliable
  • Good crisis resolution
  • Can work independently and within a team
  • Very strong organizational & communication skills + pro-active
  • Good Excel skills
  • You must also be able to communicate in a friendly, knowledgeable and reassuring way with clients enquiring directly.
SYSTEMS USED:

  • The client uses the program Amadeus to book flights and their own custom software for itineraries.
  • Microsoft Excel is used for calculations.
  • The client is currently implementing ‘Sales Force' as their CRM.
  • Relevant training for unused systems will be provided but proficiency / good skills in Excel are a must.
RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY OUTPUTS OF THIS POSITION:

  • The primary purpose of the position is to setup and lead a team to process sales of the clients services to German Tour Operators and end clients.
  • Sales and bookings are received by phone, email and online from both direct clients and local and global agents.
  • You will be required to work in retail and wholesale environments and are expected to raise sales and maintain and improve the clients working relationships within the industry.
  • Processing sales inquiries and bookings received from agents and direct clients by phone, live chat, and email. You will be responsible for specific agents/region and be expected to maintain high and consistent levels of customer service in all aspects of the job.
  • The sales team will be supported by a reservations team.
  • The reservations department works as a team and although you will be allocated specific responsibilities you must also be prepared and able to take on other tasks as required.
REMUNERATION & ADDITIONAL BENEFITS:
