We are looking for an experienced chef who is hard working, enthusiastic, and has a passion for Mexican food. The successful candidate will head up our kitchen and be responsible for the overall day to day running of a 120 seater Mexican restaurant. The position is full time starting ASAP.
Monthly financial reporting
Hygiene - ensuring neat, clean conditions at all time
Management of food costs and ensuring portion controls remain at acceptable levels
Management of kitchen and pizzeria staff, including weekly rosters and training of staff to required levels
Cost and stock control including receiving, checking, quality control and correct storage of stock.
Excellent quality of food and presentation
Regular stock counts and costing thereof
Development of new menu items
Excellent communication & management skills required.
Excellent admin skills.
Strong purchasing and control of stock levels.
Prep management skills.
Good on the pass, must be able to get out 100 + meals a night.
Team leader and a team player.
Passionate about food, knowledge of Mexican food would be advantageous.
Formal qualification required.
Valid drivers license required.
